I’m a fine art photographer based in Wake Forest, North Carolina, where my wife Teresa and I live with our three wonderful kids — Ellis, June, and Ruthie. I’m a coffee lover through and through (the kind who always knows where to find the best local cup), and creativity has always been a big part of my story — from playing music to being drawn to the arts in all their forms.
Teresa and I were married on a little farm in Florida in February of 2011, and after 15 years of marriage, we still laugh about her favorite photo from our wedding day — a candid of me absolutely ugly crying as she walked down the aisle. Turns out, I’m not a pretty crier… but I am very sincere.
Family is at the core of everything we do. If given the choice, I’ll almost always pick a quiet night at home drinking coffee with Teresa and playing with our kids over just about anything else. That same sense of connection and intentionality is what I bring into my work with couples.
While the business carries my name, it has always been a true partnership. Teresa isn’t just my wife — she’s my best friend, business partner, one of our second photographers, homeschool teacher to our kids, and the all-around Type-A boss lady who keeps everything running smoothly. She has faithfully stood by my side for 15 years — encouraging, supporting, and pushing me to love others more deeply — and this business simply wouldn’t exist without her.
Photography began as a hobby for me — something creative I enjoyed experimenting with. But everything changed when I photographed my first wedding in 2014. That experience lit a fire in me, blending my love for people, storytelling, and artistic expression in a way that felt deeply meaningful. I haven’t looked back since.
Today, after almost 300 weddings, I still approach each one with the same heart: professionalism, joy, and a deep sense of purpose. I give all the glory to God for the gift of photography — a gift that allows me to reflect just how beautifully and wonderfully people are made.
I truly believe every love story is worth celebrating, and it’s one of my greatest honors to help preserve these moments for generations to come by serving couples on their most special day.
ASSISTANT PHOTOGRAPHER
KIND WORDS
I can't say enough good things to express how grateful we were to have JP as our wedding photographer. He captured our dream photos all while making us feel so special throughout the entire day. He made us feel comfortable even though we are incredibly awkward and captured breathtaking photos that bring us right back to the moment he captured them. Truly the best photographer!
